How to Use Your Free Time More Wisely

We Need Radical Change Right Now

With the world changing drastically in a matter of days, my perspective changed with it. One of the biggest lessons I have learned is we really don’t know what tomorrow will hold. Humanity has caused so much destruction in a matter of a few hundred years and mother Earth is fighting back. I knew this day would come but I had no idea it would happen so quickly.

But this doesn’t mean we are doomed. That doesn’t mean we stay inside ultimately defeated by the situation we are all facing. We must turn our dreams into actions while we have the time. While we have breath in our lungs. Gandhi said it best “Be the change you wish to see in this world.” We all have the greatest opportunity to make dramatic changes in this world. We can no longer make excuses. Its time to use our free time more wisely and lead by example.

Support Your Community By Taking Gardening More Seriously

Over the past couple of weeks, I have seen first hand what this virus is doing to us. When you work at a grocery store you see it all. We are all mad with fear. But why must we fear death? It is coming for us all no matter what we do. Yet in this moment we choose to let fear cripple our minds. Wiping the shelves with food, we will not eat. Stealing precious items from our neighbors who need it most. After seeing the store I work at practically empty I knew that is not how we are supposed to live.

We can no longer be dependent on grocery stores to feed us, this model is part of a system that encourages entitlement and greed. After watching people fighting in the isles over toilet paper and not giving a damn about anything but themselves. I said to myself that this needs to change. So that is why I decided to do my part in this world and take gardening more seriously this year. It is my second year attempting a garden and I am determined to learn how to grow flourishing plants with abundant yields that I can share with my neighbors.

Start Somewhere: Be Your Own Change

Growing your own food during your free time eliminates the fear of starvation. It makes you empowered and independent of our broken system. When we learn how to grow food, store food, and feed ourselves through every season then we can take back our freedom. We can learn how to enrich our community. By sharing the bounty with our neighbors. Expanding our knowledge and teaching others to follow in our footsteps. My biggest wish is to start educating people on what real food looks like, how it can save us from illnesses, and how we can use it to come together. What can you do now to be the change in this crazy world?
