Winter Must-Haves Vintage Wool Skirt
Skirts and tights never fail in the wintertime. It is a classic way to layer in the bitter cold. I decided I needed to add this vintage plaid wool skirt to my wardrobe because I have been hankering to add more cozy plaid to my wardrobe. I also really wanted a wool skirt to really add that extra layer of warmth that none of my other skirts could add. In the wintertime, I want to be wearing wool from head to toe. One of these days my whole winter wardrobe will be wool. It is my favorite natural material that keeps me the warmest. And when you buy it second hand it is the most sustainable way to buy this material that lasts forever.

Sweater Layers
I layered the skirt with two of my favorite sweaters. My cream cable knit sweater that I bought from J Crew a few years ago. And my favorite oatmeal colored vintage wool cardigan that I bought from Improv Goods. A extra cozy combo that was perfect for adventuring around Evergreen.
Winter Traction Must-Haves
It was our intention to ice skate here. but the lake wasn’t quite frozen over yet. But we still enjoyed wandering around the area. We bought some Yak Trax snow chains so we could walk on the frozen lake with ease. These are also essential for hiking in the wintertime. It was a fun time. I loved watching the ice fishers do their thing. And it was such beautiful scenery to enjoy.

Evergreen
Evergreen is a very charming mountain town and the closest mountain escape from Denver. It has a lot of cute shops and eateries. After we adventured around the lake we warmed up at a cafe called Muddy Buck a cozy community coffee house. It was one of the cutest coffee shops I have ever been in. Situated in the old Evergreen Hotel that was built in 1896. It was very vintage and rustic inside. It took me back in time. I highly recommend a visit if you live in Denver or if you are just visiting. Especially if you are visiting in the wintertime. The ice skating is a great excuse to get outside and enjoy the season. Gotta find a way to enjoy all the snow, rather than moan and groan about this beautiful season. And don’t forget to warm up with a cozy hot chocolate at Muddy Buck.
