Thrifted Blue Floral Skirt
I have been finding many amazing things while I have been thrifting over the last few months. This blue floral skirt was part of one of my lucky big hauls from the Salvation Army. Although it is a little big on me I had to have it as soon as I saw it. It was one of those impulsive buys that could not be avoided because the skirt looked like it was made for me. It is a handmade skirt with a delicate floral print that looks like it was designed by one of my favorite brands Dôen. In fact, they had a release last year that looked exactly like this print, in the same color. So it is amazing to me that I was able to find a Dôen look for only $5.
Fairytale Style Peasant Top
I decided to style the skirt with my light cotton gauze poet style blouse from Cocobolo. This top has become one of my favorite wardrobe basics. It goes with everything and the flowy sleeves add a renaissance style that I absolutely love. It reminds me of all of my favorite fantasy and period based shows and movies. I am an addict when it comes to fairytales among the woods. Filled with queens, kings, adventure, castles, witches, dragons, and all of the other typical tales. My style is often inspired by my favorite shows and as I start to thrift more and more I love being able to find clothing that better fits my style that is inspired by all of the stories that I love to read and watch. That is why a peasant style top was a must for me.
The Magical Forests In Colorado
The forests in the mountains are such a magical place to explore. I love finding new trails and winding down the mysterious path not knowing where I am headed or what I will see. When we were hiking on this path called Cucumber Gulch in Breckenridge, we came across a moose that was in the water eating some foliage off of a bush. We were at a safe distance as we took a quiet moment to watch this magnificent creature. It was a moment I will never forget. The feeling the woods give you is unlike anything else. I wish I could call the mountains my home more permanently and explore the trails every day. But that is a dream I will just have to keep working towards.
Fall in Breckenridge
We are staying in Breckenridge again right now to see the fall leaves, they are at their peak right now, and won’t be much longer. Snow is already in the forecast for next week. Which feels way too early because I am not ready to say goodbye to fall or my garden. But I gotta say that I feel very lucky whenever I get the chance to escape to the mountains, even if it is not as often as I would like, or to all the places I am lustfully waiting to see. But there are many sacrifices I have to take to push forward towards my dreams and I just count myself lucky that I get to visit the mountains at all.
No matter how busy or broke you may be. Taking time to escape to your favorite places in a practical and affordable way is still important so you can have the strength to keep pushing forward. Every time I am in the mountains I am reminded of the lifestyle I am fighting for. I am very excited to explore more trails and share photos from my fall adventures here. I will have more thrift pieces that I will be stying so stay tuned for more inspiration! And happy thrifting ladies!
