A Fading Summer
I hate to say that the summer is fading, but you can feel it, with the cooler nights turning into cooler days. The small hint of yellow turning up in the leaves. I really don’t want summer to be over. But I am still looking forward to everything that autumn brings. The thrift stores have been full of good stuff lately. I have been trying to consider what I will need to add to my fall wardrobe. Luckily, I recently found some real gems at the local Goodwill and Salvation Army to start building my fall wardrobe. One item that I could not believe I found was this JCrew denim duster.

Thrift Gems For Fall
Long sweater styles have always been my favorite. And have been looking to add more duster styles to my wardrobe for an easy layer to quickly throw on during fall. I had been eyeing a denim duster from Madewell all summer long and I was an inch away from splurging and spending $180 bucks on it but then I found this one at Goodwill for only $10. I could not contain my excitement, it was truly my lucky day. And this is not the only gem I scoured that day. I also found this amazing rust colored tank top for $4 that has been perfect for layering this time of year while the weather is changing.

Denim Dusters for Fall
These two items were such as steal and well worth the purchase because I have been wearing them constantly. This is just one outfit I created with the denim duster but I will be showing you many ways to style this kind of piece. If you are looking to add a denim duster to your wardrobe I highly recommend it. It is the perfect way to transform a denim jacket for the fall season and I am pretty dang sure you will get a lot of wear out of it even if you splurge and go for the Madewell one. But you may be able to find this style on Etsy, Poshmark, eBay, or Depop too.

Thrifting Fall Basics
If you are thinking about building your fall wardrobe and making a list of items you are looking to add to your closet I would seriously consider checking out a few of your local thrift stores before going out and spending a bunch of money. Thrift stores are such a good place to find basics. I recently found a couple of sweaters that I cannot wait to wear. And I am excited to see what else I can find for fall. I am looking for more turtlenecks and cardigans which can be extremely pricey when you are trying to shop ethically and sustainably. I am also hoping I can thrift a gorgeous long coat in my size. And some long autumn skirts in warm hues would be nice too. What are you looking to add to your fall wardrobe?
