I gotta say my thrifting hunts have always been a bust so I never really got into the thrifting scene until recently when I was considering a more sustainable approach to my wardrobe. This

Tip No. 1: Thrift with a Purpose
Make a list of items you need to add to your summer wardrobe and start there. If you can’t afford to buy a brand new option. Then thrifting can be a great place to find what you are looking for. Be careful not to get too caught up with buying items you don’t really need. It is fun to go wild every once in a while. But thrifting without a purpose could easily turn into a wardrobe overhaul if you’re not careful. Set rules for yourself so you are buying items that you truly will wear. Instead of hoarding away a bunch of junk in your closet. I love thrifting but I am still trying to stick with a more minimalistic wardrobe. Frankly, because I am tired of owning way to much junk that I don’t need.

Tip No. 2: There Are Good Thrift Days and There are Bad Ones
Know you won’t always find something. But that’s ok because the next time you go you could find five items that are exactly what you are looking for. When I started thrifting for more clothes I made the mistake of not knowing what I was looking for and I ended up empty-handed with a lot of time wasted. You really have to set a good chunk of time aside so you don’t feel rushed while you thrift. It’s easiest to know what colors and styles you are looking for so you can go right to that section and save a little time. For instance, I always love looking in the dresses and skirts section hoping I can find some remarkable vintage. When I found this dress it was a good thrift day because I left with two dresses and three tops and only spent $14. So if you have a bad thrift day just try again another day. You never know when your luck will turn around.

That is it for my first Thrifty Thursday! I hope you enjoyed my two little tips for beginners. If you are headed to the thrift stores this week let me know what
