Summer Thrifting
I have been trying to hit a thrift store once a week to see if I can get lucky and find some things on my summer wishlist. There

Trying to Stick to The Wish List
In an effort to try and avoid the vicious cycle I created a kind of a long list of items that I am looking for to stay more intentional when I am thrifting. I will share my list on another post soon. But one of the items I was looking for was a denim shirt. I recently bought a denim jumpsuit from Ilana Kohn that I am obsessed with. I loved adding a unique denim piece to my wardrobe so much that I realized I needed to add more unique denim pieces. Like this denim shirt.

Adding a Denim Element
I was on the hunt for a nice button-up shirt but then I stumbled upon this really cool wrap shirt from Liz Clairborne. I have been loving adding a denim element to an all-white outfit or a floral outfit for summer. It was natural for me to pair it with my vintage white linen skirt from Improv Goods. But I have a couple of other ways I want to style this versatile top that I will be sharing on my Instagram.

On the Hunt for More Denim Styles
I think denim adds a calming element to an outfit and really can pull an all neutral or colorful outfit together. That is why the denim jacket is so popular. It is the perfect spring companion. Now I am on the hunt for ways to add denim for every season. This top was surprisingly comfortable even on a hot summer day. I’m hoping I can find a nice denim dress, a denim maxi skirt, and a duster coat too. Since I rarely wear pants it is my way of wearing denim more often with the items I have in my wardrobe.

Thrifting is Worth it When You Find What You Are Looking For
Although thrifting hasn’t been very easy for me. There are even some days I really hate it. Especially when I waste a lot a time scouring the racks. But it really is worth it when I find the perfect item that I have been looking for. Or better yet I find something unexpected and different that fuels my outfit creativity. I love finding a piece that I didn’t realize I had been missing like this denim top.
Thrifting really is a great way to experiment with different styles. Although we may have our foundational style that we stick to we are always growing and changing. Using thrifting as a tool to build a foundational wardrobe and experiment with styles is so much more sustainable than doing it the fast fashion way. I highly encourage everyone to give a good try. Even if you come up empty-handed a few times it is always worth your time when you finally strike gold.
