When it comes to shirts, tops, blouses, tanks, I have always naturally bought a lot of white. White summer tops are something I never tire of and I know it will go with all of my other colorful skirts, pants and other bottoms. For me, it is always the most practical color to buy and pair with my colorful wardrobe.
No matter what your style is, it is nice to have a large variety of white tops. Having a collection of different styles and materials is a great base to start building your basic wardrobe, then from there, you can add more statement styles and colors. There are 7 basic styles that I believe everyone would find useful in their summer wardrobes. Then you can also transition a lot of these pieces by layering them for every season. That is what is so great about building a functional base to your closet. The outfit options become endless.
1. White Button Up Tops
The short sleeve button up top from Pop Linen is most ideal for summer. But a long sleeve button up that can be tied in the front with rolled-up sleeves is always a great casual look that I love to throw on and go with so many outfits. I love my oversized button-up from Madewell it has been my go-to top for every season this past year and I never tire of wearing it.
2.White Summer Off The Shoulder Tops
I love my Ganni lace off the shoulder top that I bought last year. It looks super cute tucked into jeans and skirts and really makes a casual look feel more dressed up. I could not live without it. I have worn it so many times the past couple of summers. Also, I really love wearing my linen off the shoulder blouse from Posse. It gives an outfit a boho-gypsy feel that I love to rock for tropical vacations and very warm summer days. Then there is the cropped off the shoulder top from Adored Vintage. There are always so many amazing vintage style tops sold at this shop. I especially love this little cropped lace one because it is so nice for the summertime.
3. White T-Shirts
Hemp, linen, silk, organic cotton. There are so many sustainable materials that I love to wear when it comes to a good old fashion white tee. But I gotta say if you are in the market for the perfect fit and feel then this Jungmaven tee is worth a little bit of a splurge. The hemp/organic cotton blend makes this tee especially suited for summer because the material is so breathable and comfortable. Linen also makes a great t-shirt for summer like this handmade slow fashion one I bought from
4. A White Poet Blouse

5. White Antique Vintage Tops
There are so many unique antique vintage tops out there and at least one with exquisite lace or embroidery should be in every girl’s closet. When I discovered this vintage beauty through Rawson. I quickly became obsessed with this shirt and I can’t wait to wear it more and more. Always keep a lookout for these kinds of beauties when you are thrifting but if you need a blouse like this now, Rawson has so many beauties to choose from and they are all on sale right now!
6. White Kimono Top
Another romantic European style top that I love is a kimono sleeve blouse. Especially with Hungarian embroidery. Anything lacy and romantic is never a bad idea to add to your closet. And these sleeves will be another way to really elevate any outfit. Especially if you are headed to Europe for the summer. I bought this beauty recently from a vintage bohemian shop called Sapphire and Sixpence. Here is how I style it.

7. White Camisoles and Tanks
Can’t forget about lacy camisoles, linen tanks, silk camis and more. All the perfect sleeveless undershirt or lightweight shirt for the extremely hot summer days. There is no better feeling than a light fabric sleeveless top sitting under the shade with a cold beverage in hand. I was able to thrift this perfect antique-inspired cotton camisole. Now I am on the hunt for a white linen and silk cami. Thrift stores are always a great place to look for basics for your wardrobe. There is always an abundance of white tops too.
