First Build The Foundation For A Effortless Wardrobe
The effortless french girl style begins with an effortless wardrobe. Parisian women have a knack for building a practical wardrobe full of items they tend to hold onto and wear throughout their lifetime. So to begin embracing Parisian style you must also embrace the French Girl mindset. Where you are focused on investing in the classics. Then this mindset will lead to a wardrobe that is filled with timeless items. And these timeless items lay down the foundation for a quick and easy way to build a classic, chic, sophisticated, and cool outfit. Without the headache. And without the meltdown in your closet.
One of my favorite philosophies that the French Girls celebrate is imperfections. They don’t want to hide imperfections. Like wearing too much makeup to cover up wrinkles. Looking to perfect is not necessary. Which I have always agreed with embracing. I love celebrating natural beauty and the unique qualities that I have, even if they are imperfect. And I believe every

Monthly Capsule Wardrobes
Today I posted another vlog on YouTube where I talk about building a capsule wardrobe every month. This strategy has helped me wear the clothes in my closet more. And it has helped relieve the need to buy trendy clothing just because I feel like I don’t have anything to wear.
Start by pulling out all of your clothes that are suitable for the occasions you have going on that month. First grabbing unique statement pieces suitable for the season you’re in and any holidays or events. Then pull out any other thing that catches your eye, letting your mood and creativity wild. Once you have your statement pieces set aside on a clothing rack you can start building outfits.
This tactic lays down the foundation of carefully picked timeless items. From here you might find holes in your wardrobe where you could add a little pop of something or another foundational piece to make an outfit more functional. This strategy has really helped me shop more intentionally by only buying items that I know I could wear often with the clothes I have.
My Effortless French Girl Style for Winter
That strategy is how I put together this outfit. I will be sharing how I outfit plan more on my channel so make sure you subscribe here. I found this grey wool blazer at an estate sale last year. A blazer of any kind is a really essential piece for any girls wardrobe because it adds a little bit of masculinity (which French Girls love). Adding a structured piece over a fitted item is a great way to show off your french influenced style. I wanted to highlight this blazer by re-styling it in an effortless French girl way. Find how I previously wore it over a dress here.
A Pinterest photo helped inspire me to try wearing the army green and grey together. You can find more blazer outfit inspiration on my Pinterest board here. Then I threw on my favorite jeans. Good jeans are considered a French Girl classic. Preferably vintage. You always have to be on a constant mission for the perfect vintage jeans. And if you want the perfect shaped bum then you want jeans with no stretch. Good Jeans are not supposed to be comfortable.
Then I finished the outfit with a pair of my Sezane boots and a matching beret and handbag. You could easily accomplish this winter french girl look with what you have in your closet. And I hope you try it out!

Shopping the French Girl Way
Something to also note is that the French Girl’s consider their style trendless. They don’t want anything flashy, designer, or branded. And they like owning things that are unique and one of kind. They like going out to shop on the weekends with their families and when they buy things they intend to keep these items forever. Which is a key approach that Americans should start
Women in France also have their personal style down early on. From the outside looking in you can see how their culture is built on the strong acceptance of who they are. They exude effortless confidence because they grew up not second-guessing who they are and rather accepting it. If we want to start adopting this mindset and find our personal style we must figure out what clothes suit us. So the french girl wardrobe is not about fashion but how clothes make you feel.
