Today I am sharing my 4 fall wardrobe-essentials. When it comes to the fall season you have to be prepared for all kinds of weather. Especially living in Colorado. It changes from warm to cold in an instant with the afternoon storms blowing in. It is always good to be prepared for anything even snow. The weather seems to be changing much faster than last year and I have a feeling we are going to be having a rough winter ahead of us.
I have a few essential pieces that I use for fall layers in order to be prepared for any weather conditions. These classic pieces never go out of style so you can wear them for many fall seasons to come.
1. Midi Dress
A midi dress is a timeless base for fall layering. It looks great spruced up with long coats, leather jackets, or scarves. Midi dresses can easily be transitioned to go from day to night. For me it is an easy piece to throw on with a pair of boots, then I will pack a jacket or hat depending on how cold the weather will turn at night. The midi length is the most comfortable for me. I feel sexy, a little conservative, but comfortable without showing too much skin. The style is a must for staying cozy for fall and winter.
2. Leather Jacket
A leather jacket is the “it” jacket for fall. I always need a good leather or suede jacket for my fall outfits. I usually like to have a black colored one and a warm brown color to mix and match with different color schemes. The black one I am wearing in the photos is insulated and is perfect for cooler days. Plus the studs make any outfit look cool enough to grab drinks in or go to a concert. It is made for nights on the town.
3. Tall boots
Whether it’s over the knee or thigh-high boots I can never buy enough tall boots for myself. They are great for an extra layer of warmth. But the best part about them is they are extremely sexy. I like wearing them with midi dresses, especially when the dress has slits on the sides. Then you get a peek at the sexy boots as you are walking around. Tall boots look great over jeans too. So versatile, there is always endless ways to style tall boots.
I bought my very first beret last year, and I never really wore it. But lately, I have really been into Parisian styles. A beret is now an accessory I cannot live without. A beret lets me pretend I am Audrey Hepburn. Who doesn’t want to feel like they are Audrey Hepburn? I love getting all dressed up with my beret on top just to grab a coffee at the local coffee shop.
Sometimes I am the only one dressed up when I go out. Colorado is big with athleisure attire so I stick out when I am all dolled up with no real place to be. But it is just who I am, I am myself when I get to dress up for the day, I never get uncomfortable sticking out. I feel confident and ready to take on anything when I am in a cute dress. I am even more ready for winter with a beret in my closet. It also makes me think I need to seriously consider taking a trip to Paris soon.
